Abstract: In recent years, traffic accidents occur frequently and often result in serious body impairment. Many brain-injured patients have obvious behavior or cognitive disorders. Mental disorder rate due to traumatic brain injury have been increasing significantly, and cases of forensic psychiatric disability evaluation of such disorders are on rise. At the same time, there exist serious disputes about psychiatric disability evaluation. In the paper, the concepts related to psychiatric disability are introduced, the present psychiatric disability evaluation rules or guides are discussed, and factors influencing psychiatric disability in traffic accidents are analyzed. The relevant clinical and laboratory diagnostic techniques are also introduced. Proposals on resolving disagreements in psychiatric disability evaluation are put forward.
