    ZOU Dong-hua;CHEN Yi-jiu;CHEN Jian-guo;LIU Ning-guo(.Institute of Forensic Sciences;Ministry of Justice;Shanghai 000;China;.Department of Forensil Medicine;Fudan Unviersity;Shanghai 000;China)
    2007(04): 11-15.
    Abstract ( )
In the viewpoint of forensic medicine, the characteristics and approaches of injury mode inference and its application in determining the behavior and death cause of those involved in traffic accidents were expounded. 3 real traffic accidents were presented and the process of injury mode inference was illustrated. The result of injury mode inference was consistent with that of computer simulation and this verified the feasibility of its use in forensic medical examination of traffic accidents. In addition, it was pointed out that the computer simulation by braking locus and driving speed would be helpful to forensic analysis of traffic accidents when injury mode is uncertain.

The Study of Pollen in Soil Samples with Environment Scanning Electron Microscope
    DING Min-ju;LING You-qing (Center of Criminalistcs;Public Security Bureau of Shanghai;Shanghai 000;China)
    2007(04): 16-18.
    Abstract ( )
A scientific method for examination of pollen in soil by the environmental scanning electron microscope is presented. The working conditions for ESEM were investigated, with the optimal pressure of about 4 torrs for the sample cavity, temperature below 5℃ and humidity about 75% for the cooling sample table. Under the optimal conditions, high quality photos featuring the shape, surface pattern and aperture of pollen were obtained. The technique to collect pollen in soil and the way to observe, analyze and identify pollen were also studied. The method can be used to establish the relationship between soil evidence from trousers, shoes, shoe prints of suspects and crime scenes.

    2007(04): 23-26.
    Abstract ( )
To standardize the judicial assessment of hearing disorders, we compared and analyzed the International classification of impairments, disabilities and handicaps and several hearing handicap criteria used by audiologist and medical expert home and abroad respectively. The result is that there are some key points which could affect the judicial assessment of hearing disorders. These essentials include a set of standard audiologic evaluation methods, a criterion for confirming the type of hearing loss and a normative regulation for a hearing test laboratory, etc. We hope this paper could be a useful theoretical basis for the formulation of criteria for judicial assessment of hearing disorders in China.

Discussion on the Differences between Forensic Medical Expertise and Medical Expertise
SUN Li-qing(Centre of Forensic Medicine;Judicial Hospital of Hainan Province;Hainan 00;China)
    2007(04): 49-50.
    Abstract ( )
With the reform of judicial expertise system, more and more people transfer their occupation from the field of clinical medicine to judicial expertise. Under such circumstances, it's easy to mistake medical expertise for forensic medical expertise. Actually, these two fields are different in essence. Medical expertise emphasizes on the injury, while forensic medical expertise determines the nature of the injury on the basis of the result of medical expertise. Therefore, people who do forensic medical expertise should attach importance to knowledge of law as well as medicine.
