    Abstract ( )
Objective To develope a reliable rapid test strip for detecting alcohol in saliva according to the relativity of the alcohol concentration in saliva and blood. Methods The alcohol oxidase (ALO) in the presence of peroxidase and its substrate TMB was coated on the test strip by using enzymatic technology. The distinct color could be observed when alcohol exists in the saliva sample. The alcohol concentration could be semi-quantified by comparing color developed on the test strip. Result The alcohol concentration in saliva specimens of 300 volunteers were tested by the alcohol rapid test strip and GC/MS, respectively. The results detected by the two methods were almost the same. The cut-off value of alcohol rapid test strip was 0.1mg/mL, sensitivity 96.5%, specificity 91%, and accuracy 94.7%. Conclusion Alcohol rapid test strip with enzymatic technology is sensitive, rapid and easy to handle in detecting alcohol in saliva, and is suitable for onsite testing.

    2006(02): 25-27.
    Abstract ( )
Discovery, collection and application of foot's and shoe's impressions left at crime scenes are very important in criminal investigations. In this paper, from a new angle, we present our study of foot impressions on the upper-side surface of shoe's sole. The concepts, forming mechanism, characteristics and application of foot impressions on the upper-side sole of shoes are discussed.
