Thirteen autosomal tetranucleotide STRs are nowwidely used in paternity trios and criminal DNA profiling. Forpaternity duos, more STR markers need to be analyzed. Thecumulative discrimination power and exclusion power of the 17loci (D3S1358, vWA, FGA, D8S1179, D21S11, D18S51, D5S818,D13S317, D16S539, THO1, TPOX, CSF1PO, D7S820,D2S1338, D19S433, Penta D, Penta E) are over 0.9999999999and 0.9999998712.It means that the loci are reliable markers inpaternity testing among Chinese populations. But for special duoscases that the alleged father is related to the biological father, more polymorphic loci may need to be detected and correct for-mula should be selected for calculating PI value.[
