    Abstract ( )   PDF (786KB) ( )
Objective To establish a simple and sensitive method of analyzing trace gasoline from fire debris samples. Methods Gasoline from fire debris was absorbed and enriched by Tenax TA kit and then desorbed and analyzed by ATD-GC-MS. A series of simulation combustion experiments were taken. Interpretation of the results or the presence of gasoline was discussed by comparing four groups extracted ion chromatograms (m/z 57+85. m/z 91+105+119. m/z117+131. m/z 128+142+156)of fire debris samples with that of known gasoline. Results Gasoline residue components were detected in the six sets of combustion experiment samples in which gasoline was used as accelerant. Conclusion The method has the advantage of automatic desorbing and analyzing, simple and quick operation, high sensitivity and lower impurity interference. It can be used in the analysis of residues of gasoline collected at fire scenes.

    2010(6): 21-26.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (1195KB) ( )
Objective To establish a method of analysing of basic dyes in blue ballpoint pen ink by liquid chromatography tan-dem mass spectrometry for the discrimination of blue ballpoint pen ink on a questioned document. Methods Specific precursor and product ion pairs of crystal violet, methyl violet, victoria blue B, basic violet 14, basic blue 7 and rhodamine B were deter-mined by a triple quadrupole tandem mass spectrometer.Ink lines of fifty blue ballpoint pens were drawn on one piece of print paper. Four hole punches of each ink sample were collected with a Harris MICRO-PUNCH (0.5 mm i.d.). Acetonitrile was added to perform extraction in an ultrasonic water bath. Waters XBridge C18 column was used for separation.Target compounds were eluted by a gradient procedure in which O.1% formic acid solution and acetonitrile were used as mobile phase. Results Four hole punches of ink samples provided good signals for the analysis. Intra-batch precision was quite good as the relative standard deviation was no more than 2.3%.Discrimination power of established method was 94.4%. Conclusion The present study provided a precise method for the discrimination of blue ballpoint pen ink on a questioned document.

A Study on the Practical Problems of Handwriting Signature Re-examination
    JIA Zhi-hui
    2010(6): 27-32.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (782KB) ( )
Handwriting signature identification is an important and difficult task in forensic science practice. Erroneous exami-nation and other complecated problems are often encountered in re-examination and need to be studied in a systematical ap-proach. Through empirical studies, errors of the former examinations were analyzed in theoretical and practical views. Types and features of complecated handwriting signature identification were discussed, and main points of handwriting signature identifi-cation and procedure requirements in re-examination were summarized.

A Research on Detection and Application of Penicillin Antibiotics
CHEN Cong, YA.N Hui, SHEN Bao-huc, ZHUO Xian-yi
    2010(6): 36-40.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (640KB) ( )
As Penicillin antibiotics has strong anti-microbial activities without severe adverse effects, it has been used exten-sively both in clinic and animal breeding practices. However, penicillins may cause allergic reactions, even deaths in some in-dividuals,In addition,β-lactam ring of penicillins is unstable, which is highly sensitive to pH, heat and β-lactam enzymes. Besides, penicillins decompose easily and metabolize fast in human body, which makes the window of detection short. There-fore, it is necessary to find stable metabolites, which have longer detection window. This paper summarizes the current re-searches on determination of penicillin antibiotics, especially emphasizing on the advancements of analysis methods and mebabolites detection, and prospects for applications in food safety and forensic science.

Civil Gardianship of Mental Patients From the Angle of Civil Compulsory Hospitalization
    ZHANG Wen-ting
    2010(6): 41-46.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (975KB) ( )
At present, many countries in the world links legislation relating to compulsory hospitalization of metal patients with guardian law. The guardian system plays an important role in protecting mental patients, who lack civil capacity, and in providing necessary condition for hospitalized patients. In China, because the legislation in this regard is lagging behind, this has resulted in many acts that the mentally ill are compulsorily hospitalized, the freedom and health rights of metal patients are not adequately taken care of, or even infringed. Medical malpractice disputes and litigation are also increasing. The author tries to do some deconstruction analysis of the mental patients civil compulsory hospitalization ,with a view to provide some legislative proposals to establish the system of mental patients civil compulsory hospitalization of suitable to the situation of our country and to further improve the protection of mental patients'rights.

Psychiatric Impairment Assessment in Road Traffic Accidents
    ZHANG Qin-ting, TANG Tao
    2010(6): 47-50.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (621KB) ( )
In recent years, traffic accidents occur frequently and often result in serious body impairment. Many brain-injured patients have obvious behavior or cognitive disorders. Mental disorder rate due to traumatic brain injury have been increasing significantly, and cases of forensic psychiatric disability evaluation of such disorders are on rise. At the same time, there exist serious disputes about psychiatric disability evaluation. In the paper, the concepts related to psychiatric disability are introduced, the present psychiatric disability evaluation rules or guides are discussed, and factors influencing psychiatric disability in traffic accidents are analyzed. The relevant clinical and laboratory diagnostic techniques are also introduced. Proposals on resolving disagreements in psychiatric disability evaluation are put forward.

    2010(6): 53-55.
    Abstract ( )   PDF (546KB) ( )
Objective To introduce the technical method of exannininig the relationship between the damage of vehicle parts and traffic accidents. Methods A case of examining the relationship between steering parts and an accident was presented in trace and automobile engineering. Results After multi-subject investigation, the possibility that the mechanical failure of the steering parts caused the accident was excluded. Conclusion Multi-subject analysis should be applied in examination of traffic accidents.
