Influence of Mask Wearing on Identification of Human Images

摘要:

目的 通过比较口罩佩戴前后的特征变化,研究口罩佩戴对人像鉴定中使用的面部形态特征的影响。方法 在现有人像同一认定方法主要特征分类的基础上,测量了7名志愿者分别佩戴3种常见类型口罩后面部的遮挡面积,同时统计了197组人像照片所示的口罩可能遮挡区域的特征分布。结果 通过测量和统计发现,面部面积的40 %45 %被口罩遮挡,特异性特征约有42 %分布于被口罩遮挡区域内。结论 基于实验结果的分析可以对佩戴口罩带来的特征减少和变化进行价值衡量,并根据相关的鉴定规范出具科学可信的鉴定意见。

Abstract:

Objective To study the influence of mask-wearing on the facial features used in identification of human images, by comparing the changes of characteristics before and after wearing a mask. Methods Based on the classification of the features used in the identification method for portraits, this paper measured the shielding area of the face of 7 volunteers who were wearing three common types of masks, and analysing the distribution of the characteristics at the shielding areas of the masks as shown in the photos of 197 groups of portrait photos. Results Through measurement and statistics, it was found that 40%-45% of the face area was covered by the mask, and about 42% of the specific features were distributed in the area covered by the mask. Conclusion The analysis based on the experimental results can measure the value of the feature reduction and changes brought about by wearing masks, and issue scientific and credible identification opinions according to relevant identification specifications.
